WHO WE ARE
Yumpling was co-founded in 2016 by Jeff, Chris, and Howie.
As a native New Yorker, Jeff has always had a plethora of options when it came to good food from all over the world, everywhere except from Taiwan. He’s hoping to change that with Yumpling. He quit his job as a lawyer to pursue his passion for Taiwanese cuisine and hasn’t looked back. His favorite Taiwanese dish is beef noodle soup.
Chris spent his childhood in Taipei and when he moved to the states, the things he missed the most were his family, friends, and great Taiwanese food. While he was working as a recruitment principal, a mutual friend invited him and Jeff to dinner. It turned out that they both shared a passion for Taiwanese food and hospitality, which eventually led to the start of Yumpling. Chris’ favorite dishes include Taiwanese night market snacks and shaved ice.
Howie was working as the academic director of CSI, a language institute in Vietnam, when his friend Jeff asked if he wanted to take a trip to Taiwan. The experience opened his eyes to the amazing flavors of Taiwanese food, and a few months later, they and Chris co-founded Yumpling. Howie’s favorite dish is the (huge) crispy fried chicken sandwich.
